The Camp To Belong Maine planning committee is made up of a group of volunteers who have dedicated their time, energy, expertise and compassion to the mission of CTBM.
The planning committee meets monthly to not only plan for the week of camp but to plan fundraising events and develop fundraising activities and engage in community outreach to educate others about siblings in foster care.
Planning committee members and their bios are listed below.
Heidi M. Krieger, Topsham, Maine
As the Director of Camp To Belong Maine since the beginning, I feel truly blessed to be a part of this amazing organization. Camp To Belong Maine is a grass-roots organization that has been dedicated and passionate about making this opportunity available to separated brothers and sisters in Maine. CTB Maine is now the longest running CTB Camp in existence, and we are proud of the contributions we have made on an international level. At the same time, as a native Mainer, I have enjoyed camping and the outdoors since I was a little kid and know that being able to enjoy the wonderful Maine woods in August is a definite treat. I have one sister and I can't imagine life without her. I have had the very good fortune of a close knit family and want to be able to provide experiences to separated siblings that may not be so blessed. Through Camp To Belong Maine and Lifelong Sibling Connections, I am able to do just that.

Bob Strauss, Waterford, Maine
Camp To Belong Maine is held on the grounds of Camp Wigwam, a summer camp, founded in 1910 and still operating on its original site in beautiful Waterford, Maine. I, Bob Strauss, have been Wigwam's full time director since 1977, after taking over the operation from my parents, Ned & Helen Strauss. Everyone who has ever walked through the gate at Wigwam has felt a a certain magic, a feeling of community and family that is unique to this storied summer camp. That incredible energy has been enhanced in recent years with the addition of the Camp To Belong Maine program. As siblings walk among the pines, enjoy a two-man tubing run behind our ski boat, or simply hold each other tight beside a roaring campfire, the sense of belonging is real and heartfelt. The memories taken from a week at Camp To Belong Maine enhance, in every way, the sibling bond, and will last for all time.
