Volunteers

Camp To Belong Maine has successfully hosted over 280 campers due to the phenomenal volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to all components of CTBM including but not limited to fundraising, program planning, art activities, camp counselors, photography, etc.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact the Camp To Belong Director at 207-899-7507 or via email at heidi@camptobelong.org.

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

Volunteer Camp Counselors -  assisting, supporting and monitoring campers throughout the week at camp

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer counselor, please
contact the CTBM Director at heidi@camptobelong.org for an
application.  Please know that becoming a volunteer counselor, if
chosen, requires a serious commitment including 3 nights and 2 1/2
days of training and the entire week with campers.  When
counselors back out of this commitment, the ratio of campers to
counselors is negatively impacted.  We can't stress the importance
of being sure of your interest and ability to commit before you start
the application process.

Fundraising - developing fundraising opportunities, grant writing, planning and/or helping out at fundraising events

Quilters/Seamstresses - making sibling pillows/quilts/portrait banners

Collecting age appropriate birthday gifts

Photography - taking photos during the week of camp

For more specifics about any of these opportunities, please contact the Director.

The theatre event gives everyone a chance to show off their acting skills.

COUNSELOR QUOTE ~

"I think CTBM is a wonderful idea for the children in care. I think it gives a great opportunity for the camper and the counselors to appreciate more their own family and siblings...[This camp] allowed me to understand that no matter where the sibling is, how annoying the sibling can be, it is still a part of me and the feeling [is] bigger that anything else in this world. This camp is a great opportunity for caseworkers to learn how important it is to maintain family connection.... Siblings need to go together! they deserve it! ..."
